Enjoying the Spirit

We have recently completed a brand new interactive visitor experience for The Macallan distillery, in Banffshire, Scotland, entitled 'The Macallan Masters of Spirit' and housed in the second production house, recently re-commissioned to full use.

Working for Philippa Chamberlain, Project Director and Ingrid Haskal, Technical Manager, on behalf of Radiate Experience, Stage One produced a number of scenic elements designed by Paul Bonomini. These elements include; a stainless steel pipe work sculpture, a small stills working model, fully interactive displays, display plinths, pipe work, light boxes and graphic panels. Together they form part of the new walk through experience that commences in the brand new atrium, where the themes of: Terroir, Water, Barley, Yeast & Enzymes and Science & History are reflected. The visitor then continues on through the still house to a representation of The Finest Cut, Curiously Small Stills and ultimately The Finale where visitors can nose the New Make Spirit.

The new experience complements the distillery's 'Masters of Wood' interactive visitor centre that we previously created with Radiate Experience (under its former brand of LIVE) back in 2006, highlighting the importance of The Macallan's exceptional oak maturation casks to the character of their single malt whisky.
