Flying Sculptures and 'Magic' Lakes

Live, in front of a TV audience of four billion, we achieved numerous technological 'firsts' as we designed, built, rigged and operated all the complex flying sequences for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. This included elevating, segmenting, flying and reassembling all 18 parts of the 20 tonne, 17m Cycladic head using our Qpos control system and engineering the arena lake that took four hours to fill but, magically, had to drain in just three minutes.
