Raising the Performance

The 8m by 8m, steel platform we constructed and installed for De Vlaamse Opera was hinged at the rear, allowing it to be raised and lowered as the performance required. Two hinge height settings allowed the height to be changed during the interval, whilst an integral 6m long hydraulically controlled tilting ramp enabled movement between the platform and stage levels. Our interpretation team also constructed a distinctive prop, a 6m wide folding flower.
