A Panel of Olympic Expertise
Technical Director Jim Tinsley will take his place on a panel of Olympic Ceremonies experts speaking and sharing their collective experiences at The International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (ITEAC) in London this June.
Held every four years, the ITEAC brings together many of the world’s leading industry practitioners and on Sunday 8th June, will feature a session entitled ‘The London Olympics’. The highly acclaimed opening and closing ceremonies of London 2012 were realised through a wealth of innovative engineering and technology, particularly in the flying of artists and scenic elements within the 3D space of the stadium.
Jim Tinsley will talking about Stage One’s key role in delivering the comprehensive aerial and automation package for the London 2012 ceremonies and also about how the company led the engineering and manufacture of the complex device that was Thomas Heatherwick’s Olympic cauldron.
Further speakers include Piers Shepperd of Wonder Works Ltd, Rasti Bartek of Buro Happold, Aran Chadwick of Atelier One and Steve Porter of Unusual Rigging. The conference is based in the University of London’s Senate House and will run from Sunday 8th till Tuesday 10th June.
