Creative Development Consultancy - Palast Theatre
Our decades of specialist experience in the creative industries give us a unique insight and understanding of how to marry creative expectation with technical and financial reality. This can prove invaluable to clients, especially at the concept development stages of a project and we’ve found that over the years, our role as consultants in this capacity is increasingly in demand.
We were approached by Oliver Hoppmann of the Palast Theatre in Berlin who wanted to work with us to develop their new show, ‘The One’, a spectacular review show with costumes designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier. The Palast is publicly funded and specialises in productions with a heavy focus on visual effects. These extravaganzas draw an international audience with exacting expectations. The team from the Palast already had local manufacturers in mind, but were in need of the creative technical experience to translate the designer’s ambitious sketches into practical reality.
We hosted a series of four workshops and a creative brainstorm session for the Palast team, also visiting Berlin to assess the existing technical set-up and equipment. Over the course of a few months, we helped develop the storyboard, suggested a ‘shopping list’ of effects and costs, providing the necessary methodology to turn their final concept into reality.
