We have some very sad news to relay about our friend and colleague, Mickey Faulding.
Sadly, Mickey died in his sleep while working for us on a prestigious project in Abu Dhabi. Although a freelancer, Mickey was most definitely one of us. He was a popular, reliable, supportive and much loved crew member who worked on many top-end Stage One projects over the years including Sports Personality of the Year, the Hive and YouTube Beach.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to Mickey’s family and will be doing whatever we can to support them. Mickey left a fine human legacy. Stage One is awash with warm, fond and funny stories from everyone who worked with him and we are so fortunate to have had him as part of our team.
The unexpected nature of Mickey’s death only adds to the hard time ahead for his family. With this in mind, we have set up a Just Giving page to create a fund for his loved ones, especially his daughter and step children; Minnie, Eisa and Leila. Please donate here.
At difficult times such as this, kind words and small gestures take on huge significance. We want Mickey’s family to feel the kind of support our crew provide for each other when working in tough circumstances, far from home. Hopefully, the sadness they feel now and in the coming years may be mitigated in some small way by the warmth of feeling Mickey generated at Stage One. We feel lucky to have known him.
The funeral will be held at 11am on Friday 20th October at St Oswald’s Church in Guiseley LS20 9BB.
