Visit from RIBA President
We’ve worked closely with a diverse range of world-renown and up-and-coming architects over the last decade and so were delighted when current RIBA president, Ben Derbyshire asked if he could pay us a visit and take a tour.
Ben was accompanied yesterday by John Orrell of DLA Design and Charlotte Harrison of Mass Architects, also co-chair of York Architectural Association. Marketing Director, Tim Leigh, took the party on a tour of our 12,000 square metres of workshop space that provides us with the capability to innovate, experiment and manufacture.
We’ve invested heavily in our capabilities over the last ten years and Ben was duly impressed with the technology, kit and expertise that appeal to our clients and collaborators across many fields.
”You guys really are makers. I’m honoured that I’ve been able to see the workshops in which such fantastic projects have been made. From Zaha to Francis Kéré. I had no idea you had such broad experience.”
Our workshops never fail to elicit an enthusiastic response. Thomas Heatherwick once described them as being ‘like a James Bond gadget workshop’ and with this spirit of creative potential in mind, we hope all our visitors leave with a strong sense of our capability and scale.
