Another Successful Year at Cannes
This was our sixth year manufacturing and installing two large branded events at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. It’s hugely rewarding to see these activations emerging quickly and efficiently. It’s a difficult environment to work in and soft sand is a tricky surface to construct on, but our site crew do a fantastic job, year after year.
We had a total of 90 crew in Cannes, working across two sites. This week saw their return and also the return of ten 40-foot trucks carefully packed with structures and scenic components ready to be stored, reused or recycled.
There’s been a shift this year, with clients focusing on using recycled materials, reusing elements stored from last year and recycling where possible. Our huge site here at Stage One HQ means that safely storing sets for reuse is not a problem. We work hard to continuously improve our environmental sustainability, as evidenced by our ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems certification.
This year’s complex install required our crew to work in shifts covering 24 hours to deliver the high-spec container fit out, complex steelwork and a creatively designed shady but fun environment. Apt indeed for a Festival of Creativity and, our crew report, a pleasure to work on.
