Tim Leigh at York Festival of Ideas 2019
Now in its ninth year, York Festival of Ideas attracts world-class speakers from the media, arts, science and industry as well as featuring exhibitions, theatre, music and films, in a programme that offers something for all ages and interests. It’s a great event and one we’re lucky to have on our doorstep.
This year, we’re very pleased to announce that our Sales and Marketing Director, Tim Leigh, will be taking part in one of the panel discussions. He’ll be bringing his unique perspective and offering thoughts on the question: ”What Have Universities Ever Done For Us? In Defence of the Humanities” on Saturday, 8th June from 4:15pm till 5:45pm.
Fellow panelists include Philip Long, Director of V&A Dundee; Omar Shahryar, an award-winning composer, facilitator and peace-maker; Helen Smith, Professor of Renaissance Literature and Head of the Department of English and Related Literature at the University of York; and Dr Faye Taylor, Head of Strategic Partnerships at the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The discussion will be chaired by Harriet Swain.
The theme for the 2019 Festival is ‘A World of Wonder’ and the programme runs from 4th to 16th June. Admission for the panel discussion is free but you do need to book. You can find out more about the discussion and book a place, here.
