Sports Personality of the Year 2018
This is our seventh year providing the set for this flagship BBC show. Our crew have amassed a great deal of experience over the years manufacturing and modifying the dynamic set for the show which is broadcast live from a different city each year. This year is the fourth reconfiguration of Dominic Tolfts’s set.
The long LED wands form a key design feature. Configured in large radiating patterns, these create dynamic visual impact at stage level and above. The lower set was mounted on a curved steel frame swooping around the large stage, the design continuing onto the stage floor where each wand was neatly recessed into the black gloss laminate finish.
A second series of wands were suspended from the venue’s roof, forming a halo around the 8m wide main screen, while additional flown elements included a series of 15m long LED swooshes. A series of LED totems were located either side of the main screen.
