Labourers/FLT Drivers

Stage One is a creative construction and manufacturing company, generally working within the architectural, theatre and events industries.
We are very busy with project work and looking for General Labourers to assist within our Operations team.

Proven experience within a construction, workshop or warehouse environment is required.

Duties involve general housekeeping, loading / unloading trucks and using counterbalance or sideloader FLT's as well as general support within the production departments.
A Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence is desirable and additional plant training would be an advantage, but not essential.

Standard working hours are 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday + regular overtime (at time and a half) and occasional Saturday work. Due to rural location, own transport would be ideal.

Operations Supervisor

We are currently looking for an experienced Department Supervisor to lead our very busy Operations Team based at our workshops in Tockwith, near York.

Operations is an extremely busy department responsible for the preparation, safe loading and returns of built items, plant and equipment for all our projects. Operations acts as a central role within the business providing support to all production departments, as required.

Suitable candidates need to have proven experience of leading a team, prioritising tasks and maintaining high levels of quality and internal customer service. Working to tight deadlines, problem solving and having an innovation approach within the department is key to help progress the Operations Team within Stage One.

This is a permanent position working between 7.30am and 4pm – Monday to Friday with a requirement for regular overtime.

Production Director – (Manufacturing)

Stage One is currently seeking a high calibre professional who will play a key role in heading the manufacturing division of Stage One’s business.

Their focus will be to oversee all projects from initial inception to successful project delivery by providing support and guidance to the Heads of Department and Project Management Teams.

The Production Director will report to the Managing Director providing strategic and hands on leadership to the manufacturing departments focusing on productivity, efficiency, quality, H&S and appropriate compliance. This role also forms an integral part of the Operational Management Team for implementing the Board of Director’s Vision for the business. A background in multi-disciplined manufacture (i.e. wood, metal, engineering) would be a distinct advantage to fully understand the diversity of projects undertaken by the Company.

Head of Automation

Stage One is currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a high degree of technical knowledge and competency to oversee automation projects for Stage One and further develop our growing Automation Team.

Their focus would be to oversee all automation projects from initial inception to successful project delivery by providing support and guidance to the Automation Engineers and working closely with the Head of Technical & Head of Engineering. Further Research and Development of our automation systems and equipment will also be a key objective for this senior role, in line with our 5 year business plan.

SCENIC ARTISTS, PROP MAKERS & SCULPTORS – Permanent positions

We are expanding our Scenic Department based at Tockwith, near York and looking for Scenic Artists, Prop Makers and Sculptors with formal training and proven experience in their field of expertise.

We are looking for a mix of creative skills to further strengthen and develop the scenic team at Stage One. Applicants need to be formally trained (ideally to degree level) with at least 1-2 years industry experience. You need to be reliable, hard-working and flexible to work overtime on a regular basis. You also need to be a team player and be open minded to work along-side other departments to meet project requirements. The position is workshop based, but there are opportunities for site work in the UK and overseas.
