We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic & highly motivated, Mechanical Engineer within our Engineering department.
As a member of the Engineering department, the role will be based at our Tockwith office, York, with primary focus on the design and engineering of projects spanning the architectural, construction, exhibition, and live event sectors. Whilst experience within these fields would be a distinct advantage, consideration will be given to candidates with exceptional skillsets from other sectors.
The role will involve conceptual design of stage, performance and special machines to meet client concepts or specifications.

01Conceptual design of stage, performance and special machines to meet client concepts or specifications.
02Produce and check engineering solutions, calculations and drawings.
03Produce or supervise creation of conceptual models in Autodesk Inventor including FEA.
04Produce project documentation including Project Plans, design risk assessments, mechanical calculations, inspection & test plans, RAMS, temporary works designs, installation plans, lifting plans and technical files.
05Devising and coordinating machining methodologies with machinists and being the liaison between engineering and machining departments.
06Assisting with design for manufacture and manufacturing efficiencies.
07Produce engineered solutions with supporting calculations and analysis to achieve better than regulatory standards and guidelines including Eurocodes, Machinery Directive, CDM Regulations and Entertainment Technology - Machinery for Stages and CE/UKCA Standards.
08Select and verify third party products.
09With project managers, ensure machines and structures are built and tested to design including factory acceptance and on site.
10Act as design lead on single and multi-disciplined projects as and when required.
