This BikeBay bike rack was designed by 10 year-old competition winner, Will Hunt. Manufactured from galvanised steel, it features an undulating profile that cleverly traces the first stage of the Tour de France through the stunning Yorkshire scenery. Laser-cut names of peaks, villages and towns feature on upright posts at the appropriate locations underneath the profile.

The competition was devised by the North Yorkshire Society of Architects in association with RIBA, with the intention of raising the profile and importance of architecture amongst school children, whilst celebrating the Le Tour’s Grand Depart. After helping to judge the competition, we worked with 10 year old Will Hunt to bring his design to life before installing it outside the RIBA Architruck in Harrogate’s Tour de France Fan Park.
