We love being on the beach in Cannes. But long days and soaring temperatures mean this is far from a holiday. This year saw more new builds and consequently, both the day and night shifts were supported by an on-site designer to access drawings and models to assist the installation process.

We fitted-out the Starbox structures that provided meeting rooms left and right of the activation. Level with the promenade, we installed tension graphics to their exterior. Replicating a Google Gemini user interface screen, boards with printed prompts were lifted into place via a pulley system, with the prompts being changed throughout the festival.

Just below the promenade the Retail Lab featured a metal framework formed with rolled steel and plate for shelving, first fabricated in our metal shop and then broken down into sections for transportation and re-built on site.

For the YouTube Drive In, we worked with our agency partner Amplify to source two 1980’s model Fiat Spiders. Once in our workshops they were modified with a new dashboard, integrating the touchscreen and button required for the digital activation, alongside the original speedometer. The cars were then sprayed to match the YouTube branding, and a small number of parts replaced so the two were consistent in appearance. These were the stars of the show and were used to highlight video creation powered by Gemini Omni.

The structure housing the cars was re-purposed from a previous year, the steelwork modified in our metal shop, including new legs for additional height, a new header with integrated LED, and integrated air conditioning.

The Search Bar was a reconfiguration of a previous structure, for which we manufactured new worktops and revised the fit-out. And on the beach, the four icon sculptures were made of GRP with a timber carcase and steel legs to weigh them into the sand.

Our team on showcall were active throughout the festival, not only carrying out minor touch ups and snagging as needed but also assisting with small scenic changes between the different events that took place.
