With a tight budget and not much time, the producers approached us to help with the important infrastructure required for the staging of this show. We created the raked stage, complete with a retaining lip to hold the ‘lake’ and also created the structure that supported the trees. We also manufactured the rear flattage and, with the weight of real trees, slate and water to consider, we provided extra support for underneath the stage itself.

Our scenic artists then dressed the island, carefully blending the woodland in order to faithfully realise the Robert Innes Hopkins design.
