Le Grand Depart for the 2014 Tour de France turned the world’s gaze to the North of England where Welcome to Yorkshire’s Gary Verity had promised to deliver the best Team Presentation to date. In order to reinvigorate the formulaic presentation of all 22 teams, a new style show was devised combining a mixture of local, community and headline talent.

A set was required to do justice to this high-profile event and we manufactured and installed the stage and set as designed by production designer Ala Lloyd, taking particular care over the stage surface which was tested in both wet and dry conditions to ensure the safety of the riders. Each team rode up the gently sloping runway to be presented and interviewed, with statistics and added information appearing on the large video screen to the rear, mounted within a MI Strip lighting backdrop.
