Bespoke Steelwork Structure for Saudi Ceremony
We fabricated over 90% of the steelwork for the largest of three bespoke venues, including all trusses and purlins. Working with project manager Adam Wildi, the steel for the 89m long, 71m wide, 29m high venue was fabricated and stored in a dedicated workshop on our extensive site.
Two shifts of 14 welders worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week for two months, producing over 200 tonnes of steelwork which was then shot blasted in a purpose-built blasting shed and painted, using our two spray paint booths and paint curing ovens.
The large truss elements were of different types, each requiring its own special jig during fabrication to ensure each was built within tolerance and could be assembled accurately.
