We worked collaboratively with the client on this inaugural exhibition, developing a method to divide the gallery space, provide graphic information and also to help realise several of the commissions. The exhibition presents eleven innovative and thought-provoking installations from a range of international designers and architects.
Translucent drapes run between the installations. Hung in regular folds from a bespoke steel rail system, these provide a silvery and futuristic-looking backdrop. We also created eleven stripped-back graphic display units which comprised a steel assembly set into specially cast fair faced concrete blocks. The steel was given an iridescent zinc passivate finish and provided bespoke mounting for both graphics and iPads.
We also created a timber frame for a yurt-like structure designed by Rural Urban Framework and made a steel structure with mounted screen for Metahaven’s installation. At the entrance to the exhibition, we created a 2.5m high glass box to house the neon ‘Fear & Love’ sign.
