This was our fifth year providing the set for this flag-ship television event, working with White Productions to deliver Dominic Tolfts’ striking set. This time, the live show was held in Birmingham and saw last year’s set developed into a new format with the addition of various dynamic elements.

At around 28m wide and 20m deep and with two access ramps to the front, the set was constructed using a mixture of stock and bespoke staging units laid with a black gloss laminate floor. The main feature comprised an LED halo that swooped around the main stage area. This was formed from LED wands set into the the stage floor to the front, which then rose up and radiated around on a curved steel frame.

A series of LED lit steel ‘swooshes’ created an additional feature for 2016. Suspended from the ceiling, these were manufactured in sections and reached lengths of up to 15m. To either side of the main screen, we created the carcasses for four LED totems, while in the venue entrance we provided a 20m by 3m step and repeat wall comprising stock flattage covered with digital print.
