At 8m tall, with a steel skeleton, sculpted head, 4m long arms and oversized hands of sculpted latex, it took four hydraulically operated rams to control ‘Swampy’ as he emerged from his oil tanker lair to provide a self-contained, dramatic climax to this event.

Mounted on a slew ring to enable him to turn through 180°, Swampy combined our automation capabilities with those of our interpretation team as we provided an integrated package that also included the ‘sewage works’ stage set complete with a 12m replica of London’s Big Ben.
