For a few months, our workshops produced an endless array of all things Scottish – from Callanish standing stones made of ‘shortbread’ to a Forth Bridge astride plinths of Irn-Bru; a giant tartan kilt, to several dozen oversized teacakes.

We provided the complete scenic package for the opening ceremony, manufacturing and fitting the extensive plywood floor, applying striped vinyl to the wide perimeter section and a wooden plant effect finish to the 90m by 44m central area. We also constructed the 60m wide multi-levelled stage that spanned one side of Celtic Park, accommodating the largest screen ever seen in Europe. All larger scenic items, such as the Finnieston Crane, had to be dismantled at speed to allow for a rapid scene change with all items being removed via the height restricted stadium exits.
