Refreshing Le Tour from Yorkshire to London
These two 24ft trucks were the largest in the Tour de France publicity caravan. Both had to be fully road-legal, participating in the caravan throughout Yorkshire, as well as driving to Cambridge for the next stage of the race, eventually finishing in London.
On each truck we used steel and ply to construct the four sides, cutting the profile as necessary, before applying and gluing the vinyl printed graphics. A giant GRP ‘teapot’ tipped on a pivot, while a small smoke machine hidden within the giant mug provided the steam of a hot, fresh brew.
Each truck was provided with three anchor points for promotional staff who distributed the 6,000 sample packs stored on board.
