Terhal

From the creative minds behind many large-format resident shows, ‘Terhal’ is a high energy performance that takes audiences through the rich beauty and cultural diversity of Saudi Arabia. Dragone presented this limited run spectacular that included high-end visual and acrobatic acts, consistent with others of the genre.

As with the show’s first run, Stage One provided all of the automation and control for aerial performer flying and the flown sun element. A combination of Newton PD4, JAF, and Dragon winches were chosen to fulfil requirements of both performer and scenic element flying throughout, controlled by NextQ software and consoles.

The flexibility of the system allowed seamless control and axis handoff in several ways. From one operator to another in order to transition from in-view flying sequences into quick, safe, and streamlined behind-the-scenes loading and unloading of scenery and performers. Additionally, our system also allowed manual joystick control and on-the-fly adjustments of a sequence involving two flown performers one of whom was sat astride a galloping horse. A superbly choreographed and well-rehearsed blending of art with technology.
